‘What has Elon Musk got against Stacey Solomon?’ X users complain about feeds being flooded by posts with fake news stories about the ‘end of the TV star’s career

Bemused X users have complained about their feeds being flooded with fake news stories about Stacey Solomon and how her career has ‘ended’.

The 35-year-old TV personality and singer is going from strength to strength, but you wouldn’t know it from the wave of incorrect claims about her on the social media site.

One spam ad doing the rounds reads ‘She didn’t know the microphone was on – this is the end of her career!’

Others also claim her career is ‘over’ while another states incoherently: ‘She saves millions of lives, his name is Stacey Solomon’.

Reacting to the cascade of bizarre made-up stories about the star, one X user joked: ‘I’d love to know what Elon Musk has against Stacey Solomon.’

Sports and media commentator James Gordon complained that ‘every fourth tweet’ on his feed was ‘a scam ad of Stacey Solomon from various different accounts’.

Meanwhile, a third user added: ‘Anyone keep getting loads of tweets that are ads about Stacey Solomon & “how her career is over”? Literally about every 10th tweet on my TL.

‘Also other “celebs for the last few months. Keep blocking but they come again on other bot accounts.’

The fake stories comes at a time Solomon is at the peak of her showbiz career and preparing to embark on a new Kardashian style reality show.

The TV personality has built an empire since first appearing on X Factor back in 2009, resulting in her raking in an eye-popping £58K a week in 2023.

As well as her presenting gigs, including BBC’s Sort Your Life Out, Stacey also earns £15K for sponsored social media post, according to The Mirror.

The mother-of-five also co-owns haircare brand REHAB and announced last year she releasing a fragrance named after daughters Rose, three, and Belle, 23-months.

Speaking about the risk of the new venture she told followers in December: ‘I’m really, really excited about it.

‘I am also super nervous about it, because I’ve let go of a lot of things this year and moving into next year that are like guaranteed income that I won’t have next year, and none of this project is guaranteed to be successful in any way’.

Solomon now has £4.3m in cash and assets for the year to the end of June 2023 – up from £2.9m in 2022.
